Activity Info

On this small-group tour, your knowledgeable guide will take you to the Acropolis early in the morning so you can avoid the heat and the crowds. Meet your guide at the Key Tours office and go to the south side of the Acropolis to see the Dionysus Theater and Sanctuary. Have your camera ready to take pictures of the historical Acropolis monuments, such as the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Pedestal of Agrippa. Climb the slope leading to the Acropolis major location.

After exploring the Acropolis site and continuing downhill, you will see important attractions of Greece’s capital, including the Ancient Agora and the National Observatory of Athens. You will next enter and proceed through the city’s distinctive Plaka neighborhood. Forget the noises of the city for a moment. Explore Anafiotika, the neighborhood at the top of Plaka, and learn about its quiet, gorgeous, and mystical secret corners from your guide. Explore the countless tiny streets and take in the old whitewashed mansions with their intricately carved wood or towering iron doors and vibrantly painted shutters. Learn about secrets that not even many Athenians are aware of, and discover hidden gems of pristine beauty and breathtaking views.

After some time, you will come at the Bathhouse of the Winds, Athens’ only remaining public bath. It is situated close to the Roman Forum and the Tower of the Winds and dates from the first phase of Turkish administration (1453–1669). After passing the Hadrian’s Library, the Fethiye Mosque Museum, and the Roman Forum, you will arrive at Monastiraki Plaza, arguably the city’s oldest standing square.

After the tour, you may either continue strolling and enjoy your lunch or your coffee at one of the small, scenic stores, making memories that will last a lifetime, or you can visit the flea market, one of the best places to buy just about anything.
